Induction Cooktop Installation - Berry

This Berry homeowner was switching from gas to induction as part of a kitchen update. Induction cooktops draw a fair bit of power, so they need a properly sized dedicated circuit to run safely.

Getting the supply right

An induction cooktop cannot simply share an existing circuit. We assessed the switchboard, confirmed there was capacity, and ran a new dedicated circuit rated for the cooktop back to the board.

The work

We installed the new dedicated circuit, hard wired the induction cooktop to manufacturer requirements, and coordinated so the old gas supply was capped off and made safe. The new circuit was protected and tested before handover.

  • Switchboard capacity assessed for the new load
  • New dedicated circuit run for the induction cooktop
  • Cooktop hard wired to manufacturer specification
  • Old gas supply capped and made safe

The result

A safely connected induction cooktop ready to use, with the gas changeover handled cleanly. The owner can enjoy their new kitchen with everything done by the book.
